The story behind autotow towing services. From the tender age of just fifteen. I found myself gravitating towards the car industry. Firstly I was consumed by the workings of cars. I found myself needing to know more and more on the mechanics of vehicles.
Consequently, I undertook a course at TAFE and proudly became a motor vehicle mechanic. With that came a bizarre phenomenon. Suddenly I found out that I seemed to have more and more mates. Then there were the mates of a mate. That’s when my eyes became open to business opportunities. There was a need for a reliable mechanical workshop to be born in Mortdale. Therefore, when a factory became available on Boundary road at Mortdale, I seized the opportunity.
Now you might be asking yourself what this has got to do with a towing service, right? The answer is simple; it all comes down to customer service. Remember back in the day, when the little local garage on the corner had a mechanic? And that mechanic always had a tow truck or at least a car trailer. You know like Cooter from the Dukes of Hazard. Well, I followed this very same principle. After all the customers had to get to my workshop somehow, So I figured it might as well be me that goes and picks them up.
If I was to tell you that I still own this very same Mechanic shop at 61 Boundary road Mortdale, would you believe me? You guessed it, proudly serving the community to this day, including most of those original mates and mates of mates. It is called Automate Car Care and also, Carline Automotive and Exhaust. Find yourself asking how this is possible? Again it is customer service, customer satisfaction and diligent quality control.
From the very beginning, these are the business practices that are instilled into my DNA.
Due to these very principles, By early 2013, I found the towing side of my business growing at a rapid rate. Likewise, Michael, a mate of mine, found himself outgrowing his tow truck business. Therefore, to maintain my tuff, stringent quality control measures and customer service expectations, I had to act, and I had to act fast. So Michael and I (Jon) put our heads together and came up with a solution.
Autotow Towing Services Is Born
Autotow towing was born in September 2013 and initially the fleet comprised of four tilt tray trucks. Two of Michaels and the two of mine. We ran the business out of an average-sized holding yard. Incredibly, Over the last six years, the company has continued to grow.
Therefore, these days the fleet comprises of thirty tilt tray trucks, three double axle tilt tray trucks, five-car carriers, four smaller cradle trucks to manoeuvre into smaller areas and two prime movers with Interstate car transporting trailers, drop deck trailers and a super tilt trailer.
All tow trucks are fitted with GPS tracking devices so that we know instantly, where they are, enabling us to dispatch the nearest available tow truck to your location.
As the industry and technology have evolved, we to have grown into one of the most professional towing companies in Sydney. Our core business area is the St George area, the Sutherland Shire and Canterbury Bankstown. We only employ dedicated professional, thoroughly trained and licenced towing operators. Our fleet has all required insurances and licensing in place for your peace of mind.

The holding yard premises have indeed expanded with our main holding yard now located at 8 Hearne Street Mortdale. Two metre-high security fences protect the main holding yard along with an automatic gate, and the indoor storage facility is alarmed.
